I am a staff editor and writer for The Christian Science Monitor with more than 18 years of experience editing, soliciting copy, feature reporting and writing, book reviews, and blogging.

I’m also currently the creator and manager of the Monitor’s robust internship program that includes a vigorous curriculum and on-the-job skills training in the dynamic field of journalism.

As a feature writer, I have written on a range of topics from the serious to the whimsical: women farmers;  climate change as art; profiles of people making a difference; and the rise of urban farming.

My July 11, 2011, 3,000-word cover story for The Christian Science Monitor magazine, “The Big Stir,” about America’s culinary renaissance, was a finalist for a 2012 James Beard food writing award.
