I am a staff editor and writer for The Christian Science Monitor with more than 18 years lifestyle 9/01/14of experience editing, soliciting copy, feature reporting and writing, book reviews, and blogging.

I’m also currently the creator and manager of the Monitor’s robust internship program that includes a vigorous curriculum and on-the-job skills training in the dynamic field of journalism.

As a feature writer, I have written on a range of topics from the serious to the whimsical: women farmers;  climate change as art; profiles of people making a difference; and the rise of urban farming.

My July 11, 2011, 3,000-word cover story for The Christian Science Monitor magazine, “The Big Stir,” about America’s culinary renaissance, was a finalist for a 2012 James Beard food writing award.
